Newman Noggs had
lodgings at the top of a house near Golden Square. Arriving home from work one
night, he saw two tired, wet travellers waiting patiently outside his door. He
invited them straight in and gave them some hot soup and some dry clothes. Then
Nicholas came and he want to knew about her sister and her mother. Newman
replied his uncle is letting them live in an empty old house, but his mother
and his sister have cleaned a couple of rooms and made them quite comfortable.
Then Nicholas want to knew about the bad news. The bad news is Fanny squeers accused Nicholas. Nicholas asked to Newman that she is
lying. Nicholas want to met his uncle, but he can’t because his uncle out of
the town. Newman asked to Nicholas that he can speak to his uncle when he
returns. Two days later, Nicholas went to visit his uncle, but his uncle was
not at home, so he went to see Miss La Creevy. Miss La Creevy asked him why he
had returned to London. Nicholas explained to her what had happened. Then he
went to visit his mother and his sister, he shocked because his sister and her
mother live in wet and dirty place. Then
Nicholas met his uncle and explained what happened to him. But his uncle
didn’t believe, and Nicholas angry and he left London with Smike. Soon after
Nicholas had left London, Kate lost her job.
Her mother looked through the newspapers and quickly found an
interesting advertisement, a woman called Mrs Wititterly was looking for a companion.
Then, she went with her mother for an interview with Mrs Wititterly. She was
very excited about it and Kate employed by Mrs Wititterly. Sir Mulberry Hawk an
ugly old man with a lot of many who had met Kate once at dinner at Ralph’s
house. Sir Mulberry loved Kate, but Kate didn’t loved him. But Sir Mulberry
want to met Kate again, so he made a plan, he invited Mrs Nickleby and he can
met Kate again. When Kate met him again she felt uncomfortable and she hate Sir
Mulberry. The next day, Sir Mulberry visited to Mrs Wititterly house, he met
Kate again. He visited the house every day, Mrs Wititterly jealous with Kate,
and she became less friendly towards her. Once upon a time the two woman had a
big argument, and Kate hurried to her uncle’s house. She asked help to him to
stop Sir Mulberry, but he can’t. Kate felt disappointed
, and he left the room. As she was closing the door behind her, she was
surprised to find Newman standing in the hall. He said don’t be sad, i shall
see you soon. Then she walked quickly back to Mrs Wititterly house,trying to
understand Newman,s strange words. She didn’t know that Newman had received a
letter from Nicholas. When Nicholas received Newman’s letters, he and Smike
returned to London immediately. Nicholas left Smike to wait for him and went to
see Miss La Creevy. Nicholas walked anxiously along the streets. Feeling hungry
he stopped outside a handsome hotel. He went into hotel and entered the coffee
room. Suddenly,he heard one of the men at the other table say his sister’s
name, and looked up from his paper with surprise. Then Nicholas face burned
with anger, but he didn’t move. Nicholas rose angrily and walked across to
their table, he said to Sir Mulberry he want to speak private with Sir
Mulberry, but he refuse Nicholas. Then Nicholas took a card from his pocket and
threw it on the table, and he said that he is the brother of the young lady who
has been the subject of conversation as this table. Sir Mulberry looked at
Nicholas with scorn, then said to his friends’ let him talk until midnight if
he wants’, returned to his table and waited, then his friends leaving Sir
Mulberry alone in the room with Nicholas.Sir Mulberry sat in silence and gave
Nicholas another long. With the waiter’s help, he put on his gloves and his
coat and he walked outside. Nicholas followed him into the street. Then
Nicholas said that he same as Sir Mulberry in birth, background and better than
Sir Mulberry in everything else. Then he asked will you or will you not tell
me who you are, i'd tell a real gentleman but not a boy like you, Sir Mulberry
replied. Sir Mulberry pushed him to one side, Nicholas jumped forward and put
his hands on the door. ‘ i will not let you leave until you..’ before he could
finish his sentence, Sir Mulberry lifted his stick and hit him hard on the side
of the head. Nicholas anger and he managed to take hold of the stick and hit
Sir Mulberry across the face with heave handle.
